How Long Did The Velociraptor Live ?
The six feet long and two feet high with a weight of around 45 pounds, the Velociraptor was a fast running carnivore. The most unique part of its body was its neck which resembled the letter S. This unique shape of the neck allowed it to move up and down, according to its suitability. The slender and long legs of the Velociraptor permitted it to run at very fast speed. It was a biped dinosaur who sometimes jumped to travel the long distances. |

It was found in the Cretaceous period some eighty million years ago. It was used to the hot and arid environment. A place similar to the habitat of the Velociraptor was discovered in Southern California which has desert climate near fresh water. It simply means that this species of dinosaur would wait for the animals to come to drink water, and then attack them. However, many animals use the same trick till date. The fossil remains of the Velociraptor were found in the Eastern Asia, specifically Russia, China and Mongolia.
Henry Osborn became the first paleontologist to discover the remains of the Velociraptor in the year 1924 in Mongolia. Skull with jaws, and toes with one claw was the first remains of Velociraptor to be found. The skull was located near the skull of Protoceratops. But the paleontologist as well as scientists failed to generate any idea about the existence of Velociraptor or any other dinosaur. So far, 12 examples of the animals have been discovered by paleontologist.
Although scientists and paleontologists have access to fossil remains of the Velociraptor, they have still not been able to decipher or figure out how long did the velociraptor live.
