Where Did Tyrannosaurus Rex Live ?
The largest bipedal carnivore of its time, Tyrannosaurus Rex lived up to 65 million years ago during the age of dinosaurs and till the time they became extinct. Fossils have been found in sedimentary rocks in parts of Wyoming, Montana, North and South Dakota, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas in the US, and parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada. |

The rocks in which these fossils were found are 68 to 66 million years old giving a fairly accurate assessment of when T. Rex walked the earth.
These areas where T. Rex fossils were found were typically costal lowlands much the same as that ranging from the Gulf Coast to the Southeastern Atlantic coast of the US. The environment was conducive to flowering plants, palms, cycads, sequoia-like conifers and ferns leading climatologists to conclude that at the time of the dinosaurs the climate was far more warm and humid than it is today.
It is debatable whether the T. Rex was a predator or scavenger or both. What is not in dispute is that it was a meat eater which lived on herbivorous dinosaurs and other smaller prey. The whole structure of the T. Rex is oriented towards consuming vast amounts of flesh. Its sense of smell would have been acute with large, well developed olfactory lobes and nerves. Its skull was broader at the base tapering towards the front. With this, the eyes had forward or binocular vision. These two senses would have enabled the T. Rex to sense its prey from long distances away.
