Trex Vs Allosaurus

Allosaurus and Tyrannosaurus belong to the theropods variety. The name Allosaurus comes from the Greek language which literally means "different lizard". The vertebrae of this species were different from the other dinosaur varieties that existed at the time of discovering the fossils and so it got its name.

The Tyrannosaurs species originated about 80 million years ago during the Cretaceous period whereas Allosaurus were present in the planet during the late years of the Jurassic era which is almost 150 million years ago!

Allosaurus was a land living carnivore with a massive skull balanced by its heavy and long tail. Tyrannosaurus is one of the most ferocious and large dinosaur species which had a structure that helped in the crushing the sturdy bones of its prey! Tyrannosaurs were thrice the size of Allosaurus. The strong skull of the species was used to attack its prey.

The hands of the primitive Allosaurus were long and had three fingers in each. The hind legs of Allosaurus were powerful and the forelimbs were shorter. The claws of the Allosaurus resembled that of an eagle and the structure of the mouth helped the species to swallow the prey more than chew it! Tyrannosaurus however shorter hands with just two functional fingers which helped in catching hold of its prey. The conical shaped teeth of Tyrannosaurus helped in piercing and gripping the flesh of the animal.

The ankle, head and backbone structure of the Tyrannosaurus resembles closely with that of the modern birds and is slightly different from that of the Allosaurus.
